Kites Against Cancer

This uplifting family event kicks off with Zumba® at 11:00 a.m. followed by a dedication ceremony at noon in which Samantha Russo, Miss New Hampshire 2013, will take the stage and sing in honor of cancer survivors and those lost to cancer.

Event festivities feature family-friendly activities, including kite flying and decorating, face painting, raffles, refreshments, music provided by Z107, and more!  **Raffle prizes have been generously donated by area businesses, including concert tickets to the Lady Gaga concert at Fenway Park.

Visit the Everyday Amazing Mobile provided by Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.  Attendees are encouraged to stop by and share what “everyday amazing” means to them, as well as share the name of someone in their lives whom they consider to be amazing. Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center’s leading radiation and medical oncologists provide care for patients at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care.

Stop by the Rockingham VNA & Hospice tent and enjoy a free cup of chowder compliments of CR’s The Restaurant in Hampton. Additional snacks and refreshments provided by Hannaford and Polar Beverages.

Receive a complimentary kite with each $10 donation (Only cash and check accepted.). Special kites available the day of the event or in advance at the following Seacoast locations:

Participants are encouraged to decorate or personalize their kites in memory or in honor of a loved one.

 

Please note:  Only cash and checks accepted. 

**Raffle ticket prices:  3 for $5, 10 for $10 or 20 for $15.  Lady Gaga raffle ticket prices: 1 for $10 or 3 for $25. 

Event proceeds benefit The Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital, which provides financial assistance and support to patients in need at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care.

With your $10 donation towards a virtual kite, your loved one will be honored and remembered at the event.  We will add his or her name to our large kite, which will be flown during the event.  Click here to purchase.

Gary Proulx, MD, medical director of radiation oncology at Exeter Hospital's Center for Cancer Care, Dan Raposa, director of advancement for Exeter Health Resources, and Panos Fidias, MD, medical director of medical oncology at the Center for Cancer Care, join in the day's activities.
