Congratulations to this year’s Exeter Hospital Kathleen Schusler Scholarship recipients: Meghan Hession, Eryn Martin, Kim Daignault, Rachael Porter, Anne Viehl, Rose Phillips, Pamela Jangro, Tessa Hamel, Christine Ovalles, Rachel Nash, Jessica Pitt and Jill Bickford. A ceremony and reception to honor the recipients was held at the hospital on August 4.
Kathy Schusler, ARNP, worked for Exeter Hospital’s Center for Occupational and Employee Health for 22 years prior to passing away from cancer in 2008. The Kathleen Schusler Fund for Nursing Education and Development was established by her family to provide financial support for nursing professional development. Awards are given annually to employees of Exeter Hospital, Core Physicians and Rockingham VNA & Hospice based on management and peer nominations and applications.
This year was the eighth annual presentation of the scholarships. In 2011, nursing staff at Exeter Hospital donated additional money to the scholarship fund in memory of Carol Savoy, RN, a Clinical Resource Nurse at the Hospital who passed away that year.
