Exeter Hospital nurse Sue Burns became a patient when a chest x-ray revealed a mass in her lungs. Her friends and colleagues became her caretakers and biggest cheerleaders.

Following a cancer diagnosis at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2013, Bob learned that the partnership between Massachusetts General Hospital and Exeter Hospital would allow him to receive the same world-class treatment in Exeter without making the daily trip to Boston.

Elizabeth chose Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care to treat her breast cancer, citing their compassionate staff and extraordinary care. As a cancer survivor, she is hopeful for the future and continues to pay it forward with her contributions to Exeter Hospital.

Allison has been treated at Exeter Hospital since 2005, originally for breast cancer and then later for metastatic breast cancer. She is greatly appreciative of the extended team of caring providers, including Mass General oncologists, as well as having such high quality care close to home.

In 2002, Anne-Marie Viviano created The Beyond the Rainbow Fund to help those facing financial hardships during their cancer treatments. Since that time, hundreds of Seacoast-area, Exeter Hospital patients have benefitted, so they could focus on healing.

After Kathy felt an entire hospital rally around her during her cancer treatment, she knew had to give back, launching Kathy for a Cure in 2008. In that time, she has raised more than $80,000 for The Beyond the Rainbow Fund.
